R3 Strategic Support Group, Inc., a Service–Disabled Veteran–Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a $750,000 sub-contract through Wyle Laboratories to provide professional support services to help NAVSEA (Naval Sea Systems Command) PMS (program manager, ships) 408 develop and implement a Counter Radio-controlled improvised explosive device (RCIED) Electronic Warfare (CREW) “global deployment and sustainment” strategy that will provide a CREW capability and the logistics support infrastructure to all combatant commands. CREW systems are the electronic jammers used to protect U.S. forces against RCIEDs. R3’s task entails identifying combatant command CREW requirements worldwide and helping PMS 408 develop a strategy for fielding and sustaining CREW systems to meet those requirements.  DoD Directive 5101.14 designates the Navy as the DoD executive agent for ground-based (mounted, dismounted, and fixed base) CREW systems, and PMS 408 acts as the program manager. PMS 408 is also the Navy program management office for explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) and anti-terrorism afloat (ATA) systems.

From R3’s Program Manager, Marc Tranchemontagne: “We are proud to continue working with PMS 408 to identify CREW requirements globally and to help PMS 408 reorient from supporting USCENTCOM CREW requirements to deploying and sustaining a CREW capability globally throughout the rest of the combatant commands. The requirement for CREW systems and the logistics processes for deploying and sustaining CREW systems in USCENTCOM are mature and well-understood; however, they are not yet replicated for other combatant commands. We’re helping to redress that gap.”
